SCOM – Implementation
Challenges
They had third party Cloud environment, Hyper-V, Exchange servers and Legacy servers
- The above said technology has cross platform like Windows and Linux.
- The existing monitoring tool works on platform based.
Result
SCOM uses a single interface which displays information related to state, health and performance of computer systems.
It gives alerts whenever a situation related to availability, performance, configuration or security is identified.

Situation
Client has implemented many technologies on their Data center like Hypervisor, Legacy Servers, Hyper-V. But they don’t have proper monitoring tool to monitor these cross technology services.
” Thank you very much, Your service has been wonderful and I have been very happy with your support, I must say you guys are doing a great job, keep up the great work. “
– Mike Davis, Philadelphia
Action
To overcome the above situations we have planned to implement the SCOM – System Center Operations Manager. This is a cross-platform data center management system for operating systems and hypervisors. It works with Microsoft Windows Server and Unix-based hosts.
This requires the Fresh high end dedicated server with Windows platform to install the SCOM services. On client side, we install the agent to connect to the server. This doesn’t require any reboot of the system. So it didn’t create any down time for the services. Once we installed all, need to authorize the agent and start the Monitoring.
